The basics of lean manufacturing

On July 31, our colleagues, as part of representatives of the departments and services of NTL Packing, under the leadership of Irina Vyacheslavovna Veselova, Head of production, attended a training session at the Process Factory training site in Kirovsk on the Fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing.

The training was conducted within the framework of the national project “Labor Productivity”, aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Russian goods and services, creating a culture of high productivity and efficiency among employees of organizations in the regions of Russia.

In addition to the theoretical base, the training included practical exercises simulating the production chain for assembling the final product — in this case, the gas pressure regulator control panel. With the help of the trainers, the shortcomings and problems that the participants encountered while completing the task were identified, the most effective solutions were identified, as well as the opportunity for participants to compare classic and lean production methods. An important part of the training was familiarization with strategies and ways to implement a lean manufacturing system in the Russian environment.

Useful skills have been gained in the field of implementing lean production management concepts at the enterprise, which make it possible to effectively optimize processes, reduce costs and waste, support innovation and reduce the time needed to create the final product. In fact, the system provides that each employee in his area of work can see and identify losses, act in such a way that the value of the product is constantly growing.
